Free Health and Development Screenings
Bright Futures offers FREE Health and Developmental Screenings to children in Sutter
County under the age of 6, there are no income or insurance requirements. This screening
event is a fun way for you to check on your child’s developmental progress and access
parenting information and local resources.

Bright Futures mission is to foster healthy, nurtured children, families and communities, now
and in the future, by bringing accessible, cost-effective, educational, preventative health
and developmental screenings to children from birth to age five.

Bright Futures reflects the new emphasis on protective factors for resilient children by
building on family strengths, and by providing families with accessible, free health /
developmental screenings, referrals to appropriate community agencies when necessary, parent
training, information and support. Bright Futures promotes and makes possible the most basic
definition of a family unit. Preventative health and developmental services, offered to all
families in Sutter County, are the key components of the Bright Futures Program.
