Bi-County Elder Services Team (BEST)
Bi-County Elder Services Team BEST serves those older adults (60+) with psychiatric disabilities who may be physically or geographically isolated, and determined to be unserved or underserved residents of Sutter or Yuba counties.

BEST works in collaboration with individuals, their families, social service agencies, public health, the medical community, senior centers, law enforcement and senior housing entities.

Vision
The BEST vision is to enable the older adult to maintain positive social connections and relationships, to feel empowered and listened to in their opportunities for obtaining and securing appropriate mental health services, to maintain their highest level of independence in any and all settings, and to provide advocacy to ensure services are client-driven and client-friendly.

Mission
Our primary mission is providing assistance and access to mental health services but we also assist with referrals to other needed services such as physical health care, substance abuse assistance, social service needs, housing, etc. If it is appropriate, we make scheduled home visits.

Services
BEST services are community-based. We visit or rotate through various community sites. We have an office in Marysville separate from the Sutter-Yuba Mental Health Services office in Yuba City. The services we offer are tailored to the older adult's special needs.

We provide mental health screenings, psychosocial assessments, education (to providers, family/caregivers and the community), outreach, peer-delivered services, and support.

For any further information or questions, please feel free to contact us at (530) 216-4543.

Additional Services
BEST has access to Resource Specialists to assist with housing needs, to decrease the risk of homelessness and to assist with vocational desires or interests.

Older adults who have special cultural or ethnic needs may receive consultation and assistance from the Mental Health Ethnic Outreach Team which serves Latino, Asian Indian and Hmong populations within our community.

For any further information or questions, please feel free to contact us at (530) 216-4543.
