If your name or your address is not on the voter registration roster on Election Day, it may be necessary to issue you a Provisional Ballot. You will be required to sign and complete a Voter’s Affirmation on the Provisional Envelope stating that you are a registered voter and reside at the address you have listed and that you have not previously voted in this election either by vote by mail ballot or at any other polling place. You will also need to fill out a Voter Registration Card. A ballot will then be issued to you. If you do not sign the Provisional Envelope, the ballot will not be counted.

A voting booth will be available to mark your ballot. The voted ballot is placed into the Provisional Envelope and returned to the Election Officer.

Your Provisional Ballot will be processed by the Canvass Board during the Official Canvass. The Official canvass will commence no later than the Thursday following the election at, 1435 Veterans Memorial Circle, Yuba City, CA 95993. You are welcome to observe the Official Canvass process.

A Sutter County voter may call (530) 822-7122 after the official results are completed to find out whether or not their ballot was counted.
