Planning Services' primary responsibility is administering Sutter County's advance and current planning activities as envisioned by the County General Plan and Zoning Code. Planning staff provides reports, studies and recommendations to the Board of Supervisors and Planning Commission on land use policy issues. Planning also processes general plan and zoning applications, land divisions, CEQA requirements, use permits, variances, and other development related requests, and also manages resources within the county through the Williamson Act and the Surface Mining and Reclamation Act (SMARA).
