Home MenuPublic Health Week (April 3-9, 2023)
Join Sutter County Public Health for National Public Health Week as we work to make it easier for communities to access the public health resources they need to achieve the highest level of health.
This year's theme is “Centering and Celebrating Cultures in Health” which focuses on how our cultures shape our health. Together we can learn from each other with humility and kindness, joining as a community to improve our overall health.
During the week there will be two great community events to participate in.
Sutter County Public Health is inviting our community to join us for our Cultural Health Celebration. The event will be located at Veterans Hall at 1425 Veterans Memorial Circle in Yuba City from 4pm-7pm on Thursday, April 6th. Families and residents will be able to enjoy cultural performers, a variety of food trucks, and have access to several resources within the community. Come out and learn how you can improve your health.
In addition, the community can participate in a virtual 5k. You can walk, bike, run, or move your body in any way that feels good to you that adds up to 3.1 miles. The 5k will be open all week, so you can do it in one day or break it up throughout the week. You can report your participation on this form or by posting a picture on your social media and tagging @suttercountypublichealth. Please use #PHW2023Sutter in your caption. This event promotes natural movement and is set up for a broad range of health levels.
We can make our communities healthier, stronger, and safer!
