Sutter County, CA
Home MenuWhat is OEM?
Established under the California Emergency Services Act, Government Code 8550 et. seq., the Office of Emergency Management is responsible for planning, response and recovery activities associated with natural and human-caused emergencies and disasters throughout the County and coordination of those activities with Local Agencies as well as our partners CalOES and FEMA. In addition, OEM is focused on community engagement, education, and involvement to plan and prepare for emergencies and disasters. During an active emergency or disaster, the Sutter County Office of Emergency Management will coordinate with other county departments to establish shelter location(s) for those who are evacuated, support first responders with response efforts, as well as assist with road closures and notifications. The overarching goal of Emergency Management is to save lives, protect property, and protect the environment.
