The California Healthy Brain Initiative

Alzheimer’s Disease is a brain disease and is the most common type of dementia. It damages parts of the brain that control thought, memory, and language. Symptoms worsen with time and can affect a person’s ability to carry out daily activities. Alzheimer’s is not a normal part of aging.

Through the California Healthy Brain Initiative, Sutter County is addressing the high rate of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia in our community. The initiative promotes brain health through awareness and educational campaigns and address the needs of caregivers through workshops and classes with local partnerships.
